Cotton, Crawford Win U.S. House Races

Tom Cotton and Rep. Rick Crawford won their respective U.S. House races Tuesday night.

Cotton had been leading in District 4 over Gene Jeffress and two other opponents all night, and Crawford had been the leader in District 1 over Scott Ellington and two other opponents.

In District 4, Cotton defeated State Sen. Gene Jeffress, of Ouachita County, the Green Party's Joshua Drake and Libertarian Party candidate Bobby Tullis.

Cotton had 59-percent of the vote and Jeffress has 37-percent while Tullis and Drake each had 2-percent, with 91-percent of precincts reporting.

In District 1, Crawford defeated Democrat and Second Judicial District Prosecutor Scott Ellington, the Green Party's Jacob Holloway and Libertarian Party candidate Jessica Paxton.

Crawford had 57-percent of the vote and Ellington had 39-percent while Paxton had 3-percent and Holloway had 2-percent with 96-percent of precincts reporting.
