Medical Marijuana Fails in Arkansas

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: November 7, 2012
The majority of Arkansans voted "no" to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act on Tuesday, keeping the measure off the books.

The state statute sought to make medical use of marijuana legal under Arkansas law and establishing a system for the cultivation, acquisition and distribution of marijuana for qualifying patients through dispensaries.

Arkansas Family Council fought hard against the measure, while Arkansans for Compassionate Care supported the act.

Totals are 51-percent against and 49-percent for with 94-percent of precincts reporting.

People like the woman that lives behind me. She has no business living alone much less voting. She wonders the neighborhood looking for a dog she gave to the dog catcher, forcing her way into the homes of all her neighbors, stealing mail, goes out of her way to look in the windows of our homes, tried to drown her dog in my pool while I was in it. She was actually right behind me in the line to vote. The entire time she was bursting out loudly with crazy random talk. The woman is obviously in some stages of dementia or alzheimer's. I am in no way "better than."

balm what are these people that have no business voting? What makes you better than them?

When I went to vote I saw people from every walk of life going to vote. Some had absolutely no business voting much less leaving their house. I am really disappointed that medical marijuana did not pass here. Glad to see the numbers were so close though. Living with chronic pain from fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease, chronic tendonitis of the groin, restless leg syndrome, depression, PTSD & sciatica. It's not easy when your allergic to opiates & codeine , responded badly to pharmaceutics & have no real hope other than marijuana. So here's to another year of putting myself in a position to lose all that I have worked so hard for in my life. Thank you narrow minded people that lack compassion. I hope your pills continue to eat your organs up, destroy your families, kill people because of abuse & make tons of money for the people selling illegally them to pay their bills. I do believe it is time for me to move away from the state I love.

I didn't think it would be this close, the old are dying and the smart people are taking over.
