Rep. Tim Griffin Wins Re-election in U.S. House District 2 Race

Representative Tim Griffin has won re-election in the U.S. House District 2 race.

The Republican and incumbent had been leading the returns all night Tuesday.

He defeated Democrat Herb Rule, the Libertarian Party's Chris Hayes and Green Party candidate Barbara Ward.

Griffin won 55-percent of the vote and Rule had 39-percent while Ward had 3-percent and Hayes had 2-percent with 100-percent of precincts reporting.

The Second District covers seven counties in Central Arkansas.

Griffin will be sworn-in to his second term in January.
