A Fulton County teenager has been killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 62 west of Salem.

It happened around 7:40 this morning.

The Arkansas State Police says Angel D. Jones, 17, of Salem, lost control of her 1993 Honda Accord while rounding a curve on wet pavement.

According to the accident report, Jones' car crossed the inside westbound lane and spun into the eastbound lane where she struck a guardrail. Her car then collided with an eastbound 2010 Toyota Prius driven by James F. Winget, Sr., 67, of Mountain Home, who was injured. He was taken to Fulton County Hospital but his condition isn't known.

The impact caused Winget's vehicle to cross both westbound lanes and then travel off the north side of the highway.

Jones' vehicle came to rest in the inside westbound lane of the highway.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the accident report noted.
