Hundreds braved the hotter than normal temperatures at the Cornbread Festival.

A southern tradition, that had dozens of different types of cornbread served-up from traditional to spicy and even glutten free.

In addition to the cornbread there were yummy sides like collard greens and beans. Also blue grass music and street vendors.

Of course no one lost sight of the main attraction.

"It's a southern tradition," said Paula Dempsey owner of Dempsey Bakery. "I grew up eating cornbread in beans, greens and soup, it's just a southern favorite really."

This was the first festival of it's kind in Little Rock and was put on by Bernice Garden.
