Two students have been arrested in Boone County for a theft on school grounds.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office says on Tuesday morning, deputies were called to Alpena School for a car break-in that had apparently happened the night before.

Investigators learned that a wallet with an undisclosed amount of cash inside had been stolen from a vehicle and the wallet had been recovered.

Boone County Sheriff Danny Hickman says interviews were conducted and one Alpena School student was arrested after he confessed to the crime.

Information led to a Green Forest student who has also confessed, and even more arrests are expected as the investigation continues, the BCSO says.

The suspects arrested so far are juveniles and their names will not be released.
