Governor Mike Beebe made the official proclamation this morning in the Governor's Conference Room at the State Capitol.
The Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board encourages all Arkansans to celebrate this month through the use of soy-based products, education and conversation in homes and businesses.
In Arkansas, the top five agriculture commodities in order are: broiler chickens, rice, soybeans, cattle and cotton.
Soybeans and products made from soy are used in many different ways, such as foam for automotive seats, tires, insulation, building supplies as well as everyday items such as candles, cleaning products, paint and cosmetics.
Soyfoods are now a part of Arkansas' soybean industry, as edamame will be harvested for the first time this year in the Arkansas River Valley region.
