State Board of Education to Hear from 6 Charter School Applicants

The State Board of Education will determine on Thursday whether Arkansas is ready for more charter schools.

The board will hear from six applicants tomorrow: two from Little Rock, two from Pine Bluff and one each from Bentonville and Lincoln.

The Department of Education has 18 charter schools listed on its website, and state law allows for 24.
