A Fort Smith man is jailed after being accused of stealing $30,000 worth of air conditioning equipment.

Michael David Key, 43, was arrested after the units disappeared from the Community Services Clearinghouse, Fort Smith Police say.

Scrap metal records showed Key at USA Metal in Van Buren, and found him in possession of various air unit components, according to police.

After getting information from the manufacturer that supplied the air units to the Community Services Clearinghouse, police say they were able to confirm that the units in Key's possession were recently sold to the facility.

Key faces three counts of felony Theft by Receiving plus a petition to Revoke a Suspended Sentence. His bond was set at $15,000.
