Drivers in residential neighborhoods should be aware of children. Make sure you double check your mirrors and look behind you before backing out. Keeping injuries to a minimal today is possible with a little bit of care.
Trick-or-treaters should always be out with a parent or guardian! Walk on the sidewalk, and if one is not available walk on the left side of the street. Never enter the house of a stranger; be sure to stay on the front porch!
Parents should inspect candy before consumption to make sure it is safe, age appropriate (chocking), and in original packaging. Make sure your child's costume does not drag to avoid injuries. And most importantly, reflective tape is great for costumes, so drivers can see children at night!
Homeowners who do not wish to participate in the holiday should keep their porch light off.
Be mindful of your surroundings tonight! Happy Halloween and have fun!
