Curtis Reese, 33, got out of the Tucker Maximum Security Unit around 1:30 this afternoon with another inmate, James B. Ryan, who is back in custody.
Reese is 5'10" tall and weighs about 175 pounds.
Prison officials say Reese has tattoos that include a swastika with an eagle on top, and a skull on his inside right arm.
Reese also has a four-inch scar on his front left arm.
Reese was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder, along with Jason G. Meredith in 1998.
They were found guilty in the July 1997 shooting deaths of Eric "Oggy" Ogden and Lance Kelloms in an incident on Goodwin Road north of Benton. The victims had been shot with a .22 rifle the suspects were accused of borrowing from an acquaintance.
Reese was sentenced to two terms of 40 years imprisonment, to be served concurrently and Meredith was spared the death penalty and found guilty of two counts of first degree murder. He was sentenced to life in prison on each count with the sentences running concurrently.
Reese's last known address is 4597 Congo Road in Benton.
