A storm has east coasters bracing for a hurricane that could cause flooding and knock out power, but some Arkansans aren't afraid, instead they are heading to the eye of the storm and stepping in to help.

Hurricane Sandy is barreling toward the east coast, and states of emergency have been declared in eight states and Washington D.C.

Arkansas is a safe distance from Sandy's destruction, but Red Cross volunteers from Northwest Arkansas are heading to the disaster zone.

Red Cross volunteers are making a three day drive across the country to bring disaster relief to those caught in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
