Veterans in Central Arkansas are getting some help with their job search.

The Home Depot in Cabot conducted a career workshop today as part of a nationwide program called "Mission Transition."

The program aims to help veterans with job search strategies, resumes and interviewing tips.

The workshop is open to any member of the military or veteran transitioning to any civilian career.
Organizers, some who are veterans themselves, say the focus is to recognize the strong skills the military community has to offer.

"It helps a very unique skill set for the military and being able to translate that to what someone is looking for. It kind of helped me figure out what kind of career field I'd like to go into," says veteran Robert Fletcher.

Home Depot employs more than 35,000 veterans and active duty military.
