A candlelight vigil was held in city hall Thursday afternoon dedicated to the victims of domestic violence.

Domestic abuse has claimed 13 victims in Pulaski County over the last year, and officers responded to more than 5,000 calls.

One survivor shared her story of sending her boyfriend to jail after he attacked her.

"I never thought that he would attack me, or break a bone, or even talk to me the way that he did. I never thought that would be the case," she said.

The Little Rock Police Department says 1-in-4 women and 1-in-13 men experience domestic violence.
