Donations Could Change for Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry

Deer season is big business in Arkansas, but it's also a big deal for hungry families.
Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry has fed more than 1 million people with deer meat donated by hunters.
But they didn't get any state money last year and had to scrape by with donations and the generosity of meat processors.
Right now, hunters can donate a dollar to the program by checking a box on their hunting permit application, but lawmakers want to change that so they can donate $5 or $10.
For every dollar, the program can process enough meat to feed four people.
