PASS Members Vote to Authorize President to Call for Job Action

These unanimous votes come as a result of the removal of PASS' recognition as the bargaining agent for the support staff employees in its bargaining unit, the dishonoring of PASS' legally-binding contract and the enforcing of budget cuts solely on the backs of teachers and support staff in PCSSD.
Pass President Emry Chesterfield said, "A contract is a contract. We have a negotiated agreement. We are united in our resolve. The court system is slow. We filed lawsuits starting in May and yet we have no court date set and no resolution. We have been patient but our patience is wearing thin. The burden of budget cuts has fallen on backs of our teachers and our support staff. The superintendent had no reduction in his $215,000 salary and benefits."
