School Bus Involved in Head-On Collision

At least three people were injured, including two students, after a school bus and truck collided on Monday.

According to Sergeant Craig Stout with Fayetteville Police, the truck hit the school bus head-on at Huntsville Road between Lewis Woods Lane and South Van Hoose.  

Central EMS reports the driver of the truck was trapped.  She was taken to the hospital with a head injury and is listed in serious condition, police said.

According to Alan Wilbourn with Fayetteville Schools, there were three special needs students from Vandergriff  Elementary on board the bus at the time of the accident: one was treated on scene and the other two were taken to the hospital at the parents' request.

The bus driver may have minor injuries.
