According to a police report, a 19-year-old woman was hospitalized after being shot in the arm and having a bullet graze her chin.
A woman was sitting in a family member's car Sunday afternoon when 20-25 people pulled up on Labette Drive in four or five different vehicles and approached her, wanting to fight, the report states.
When a man attempted to step in between her and the group of people to prevent the fight, four people brandished pistols and began shooting.
Witnesses told police that a pregnant woman then came out of a nearby house and started firing at the crowd of people, according to the report.
Police responded to another shooting call just nine minutes later on 12th Street.
According to the police report, three people named as suspects in the first incident said they were being chased and shot at in their cars. The driver rear-ended an SUV that stopped short in front of her, and when they got out to assess the damage, another car that was chasing them drove by and opened fire.
A woman named as a suspect in the first shooting was taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound to the forearm, according to the report.
The investigation is ongoing.
