After concerns that it wouldn't even happen this year, the nation's oldest documentary film festival in Hot Springs is nearly in the books, and is considering itself a success.

"The week has been beyond our wildest expectations," says festival director Courtney Pledger. "Its been fantastic."

Rooms have been packed to capacity and the seats consistently filled.

The Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival is counting down this weekend to the last two days of the event, which they originally thought may not happen due to financial struggles.

Organizers say this year has been enough to bounce back and proceed with planning of next year.
