A Fayetteville couple is facing domestic battery charges after police say they threw their crying baby girl onto a bed and a couch.

James Raines, 47, and Kellsey Raines, 23, were arrested Tuesday night and are in the Washington County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.

The mother told police she pushed her baby's face into couch cushions to muffle her crying. The father admitted tossing the baby onto the bed and couch and said he would also hold the child's face against his chest to muffle her crying, the report states he told police.

According to reports, the two-month-old baby was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. Her condition isn't known.

The investigation began October 11th when police were called to Washington Regional Medical Center to investigate the child's injuries.

Idiots like these two should not breed! Poor baby. Hope they take it away and NEVER give it back! There are PLENTY of couples out there that would LOVE to have a baby, that can't!
