Maumelle Police are investigating a rash of car burglaries they say could have been prevented.

The chief says thieves have broken into 12 cars with valuable items in plain sight within the last week, and in each case, owners left their doors unlocked.

Chief Williams is reminding people to avoid leaving items such as electronics and weapons in view.

He says they're developing a few suspects, but have not made any arrests.

Comments

Yes folks do not leave anything out in or on your property. Theves should have to work to steal your things. Who are you to leave your vehilce unlocked or stuff in your vehicle. You are inviting people to take what they do not own. However if you catch the thief in the act do not hurt them. You will be sued and maybe even arrested for assult and you will lose. We have to protect their right to be safe while they steal your stuff.
