James Hinton, 18, is accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of diamond rings and a MacBook in August and September.
Police say Hinton would pretend to be meeting people who had items for sale, which he would grab from them and run away. He's also believed to be involved in other similar incidents still under investigation.
Hinton is charged with three counts of theft of property for allegedly stealing a MacBook valued at $1,200 plus two diamond rings valued at $7,000 and $5,000. One of those incidents happened at Chapel Ridge Apartments on Stagecoach Road, where police are still investigating six other similar incidents that happened this month and last month.
Hinton was reportedly picked up UALR Police for a similar incident and was armed with a gun at the time of his arrest.
