New Spot to See Fall Colors on Northwest Arkansas's Beaver Lake

"There's nothing else like it on Beaver Lake," says Alan Bland, with the Army Corps of Engineers.
As the leaves bleed from green to orange, there's a new spot along Beaver Lake to take it all in.
"This structure that we're standing on was just completed last week," says Bland.
Last year, the Army Corps of Engineers decided the area needed a facelift.
"We've had this whole facility closed about a year to tear down the old stuff and get up the new stuff," he says. Opening the dam overlook just in time for fall.
Next weekend will probably be peak fall colors and this is a really pretty area up here to see it all.
But there's a lot more to see than just leaves.
"It's just exquisite beauty out here, you've got glades and bluffs, you've got everything you need right here," Bland says.
There's plenty of visitors already taking the chance to snap a few photos.
"Just on an everyday basis on a weekend, we'll get a thousand people up here just looking, taking pictures and enjoying it," he says.
And the best part, it doesn't cost a dime.
"This is one of the best views on the lake. It's the best view of the lake and the dam no doubt about it," says Bland.
But there's only a few weeks left to see the brand new facility. It closes for the winter on November 1st.
The Corps will reopen the location again in April.
