Hogs Need to Hold on to Positive Momentum

By: Adam Alter, The Razorback Nation

It's amazing what a couple of wins can do for a football team's mood.

"It gives you a little sense of relief," senior quarterback Tyler Wilson said Tuesday. "Cures a lot of things."

"Everybody's excited," junior offensive guard Alvin Bailey added. "Things are going great. We want to keep things going."

There in lies the rub. Arkansas must find a way to carry this positive momentum through the bye week.

"You come out there and practice with great intensity every day and great focus," offensive coordinator Paul Petrino explained.

"You've just got to remember that winning feeling," Bailey said. "We've had a tough season so far. We've had some tough losses. You don't want to go back to that. You want to keep winning. To keep winning, you've got to keep getting better."

"We keep having a good attitude, keep practicing hard every day," senior receiver Cobi Hamilton said. "Just keep preparing. I think we'll come out with a win against Ole Miss."

In the Razorbacks' opinion, the difference these last couple of weeks hasn't been playing against worse teams but instead playing with better focus. The Hogs put up just as many yards against Texas A&M and Rutgers but failed to finish drives like they did against Auburn and Kentucky.

"Really I think it comes down to when it matters and that's in the red zone," Wilson said. "We've come through and executed and done things the right way in the last two games."

"We didn't hurt ourselves," Petrino said. "We didn't turn the ball over. We didn't have mental errors. That was what was great to see."

"We're really playing Arkansas football," Hamilton said. "I guess early in the season we weren't playing Razorback football like we were capable of doing. I think right now everything's starting to click."

Better late than never to find your groove but is it too little, too late to make a bowl game? The margin for error is razor thin.
