stvincenthealthsystem2007-09-18-1190143460.jpgMost wounds will heal if cared for properly, but others won't.

That's especially true for people with diabetes or those who are still on the mend after surgery.

When that's the case, a hyperbaric chamber can help by supplying plenty of oxygen into a patient's bloodstream.

St. Vincent Health System in Little Rock has one of these chambers inside its Wound Care Center.

Dr. Gary Villines shared knowledge about the special care the hyperbaric chamber delivers on KARK 4 News at Eleven on Tuesday.

He answered questions ranging from what makes St. Vincent Wound Care Center unique, to how breathing oxygen helps heal wounds.
