Updated: October 16, 2012
A Plus Arkansas, a coalition of concerned parents, educators, and community leaders is coming together in Magnolia with the goal of improving schools.

On Monday, they gathered for a town hall meeting with other parents and educators at the Columbia County Library.

They met to voice their concerns about Arkansas schools and what they believe needs to be done to make improvements.

The organization is pushing for more charter schools and for school board elections to coincide with general elections to save taxpayers money.

Organizers say positive changes can be made in Arkansas schools, by everyday people taking part in the education process.

"Encouraging teachers and educators and citizens to say. 'Hey we need to look at some different options on how we educate in the state of Arkansas'."

A Plus Arkansas goes next to El Dorado for another town hall meeting at city hall later this month.
