How much legitimate science would you like? The fact is the AMA as well as the American College of Physicians both say marijuana should be reduced to a Schedule 2 controlled substance so it can be researched. In 1937, the AMA went on record in Congressional testimony and opposed the Marijuana Tax Act, which was the first Act to try and outlaw marijuana...btw, the Marijuana Tax Act was held to be an unconstitutional law in 1969. The DEA does NOT allow scientific studies to be conducted on marijuana. In all of the tests done by the federal government, performed by NIDA or ones that met the FDA approval, ALL of them showed the evidence that marijuana had scientifically valid medical benefits. The fact is, up until the creation of the CSA, doctors could prescribe marijuana. Cannabis was included in the US Pharmacopeia until it became illegal to prescribe as a Schedule 1 controlled substance. A presidential Commission was appointed in 1971 to study marijuana (The Shafer Commission) and President Nixon dismissed their findings and threw them in the garbage, which is a violation of law itself.

Look at what the tobacco tax has done for hospitals recently in Arkansas. With this measure people can manage pain and do it with marijuana through safer channels, but it could also allow for taxation and that could promote revenue for the state to help with regulating the measure, school funding, etc...

Really? Awesome KARK. In the intro they show a thug with guns on the table crushing up marijuana......wow. Why can't we just be honest about the issue and let the people decide? You can't win unless you scare people?
