Owlfest This Weekend in McGehee

The festival is centered around the McGehee High School homecoming football game.
The festival activities and events include a homecoming parade, pep rally, bonfire, the homecoming football game, a street dance, a 5K Run/Walk, golf tournament, talent show, music show, owl hoot contest, pumpkin decorating contest, hot dog eating contest, horseshoe tournament, bike show, dog show, sidewalk chalk contest, music by the broadBAND Girls from Nashville, a Razorback tailgate party, a fire and light show and a number of other activities, according to Jeff Owyoung. broadBAND (photo below) will perform from 8 p.m. until 11:30 Saturday night on the First National Bank stage.
They have shared the stage with many major acts, including Sugarland, Rascal Flats, Brooks and Dunn, Dierks Bentley and Zac Brown.
Individual band members have opened for major country music artists such as George Jones, Dwight Yoakam and Sara Evans; their songs have been released by major labels; and they sang the National Anthem at a number of televised NASCAR races.
