The City of Russellville is one step closer to having a town splash-pad for kids to cool off in during the summer.

City treasurer Jerry McCoin says the pad is slated to be built in city park by the youth center and should be completed in November.

The city was able to budget $25,000 for the project, with a $21,000 price tag through a general auxiliary fund and one from a sales tax on lodging.

The city council will vote to approve the project at next Thursday's meeting.
