UAMS Offers Free Prostate Screening in September

 Free prostate screenings are being offered on September 21st by Little Rock's University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

The screenings will be held by appointment from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the 6th floor of UAMS' Arkansas Cancer Research Center.

The screenings are for men aged 50 to 75, or African-American men and those with a family history of prostate cancer aged 40 to 75.

To make an appointment for a screening, call (501) 296-1508 from 10 a.m. to noon, starting September 12.

Parking is available for a nominal fee in the Outpatient Center parking deck on the corner of Cedar Street and Capitol Avenue.

The UAMS prostate screenings provide participants an opportunity to be involved in research for the prevention of prostate cancer. The knowledge gained from this research may improve prostate cancer outcomes.
