Republican Lieutenant Governor Mark Darr announced on Tuesday that he's supporting a temporary half-cent sales tax for Arkansas highways.

In a statement, Darr said while no one hates taxes more than he does, the sales tax will create jobs and address infrastructure needs.

Arkansans will decide whether to approve the temporary sales tax in the November election.
