Update (October 10):
Two missing horses have been found safe in Boone County.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office says the animals "evidently got out of their pasture and someone found them and placed them in their pasture until the owner could be located. The horses are fine and have been reunited with their owner."

Original story (October 9):
Officials in Boone County are on the lookout for two missing horses.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office says it's investigating the theft or loss of the animals in the Lead Hill community.

Owner Stephanie Osborne told deputies her two horses went missing in late September and efforts to locate them had not been successful.

The first horse is described as a 14-year-old Arabian gelding, about 14 hands high, light grey or white in color with a pink blaze on its face. The second horse is a 6-year-old Tennessee Walker mare, about 15 hands high, black in color with a sun-bleached mane and a white spot on its right ankle.

Sheriff Hickman said anyone who finds the horses or knows what happened to them can contact Sergeant Marc Arnold at the Boone County Sheriff's Office or can submit information on line at the Sheriff's Office website (click here).
