Construction Work Closes Part of NLR's Emerald Park

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: October 9, 2012
Construction work has closed part of North Little Rock's Emerald Park for the next few months.

The center section of the park has been temporarily closed for at least 2-3 months (depending on weather) in order to build the new Highland Trail, which will connect the section of pavement to the west.

The new paved trail will be called the Highland Trail and the unpaved portion will remain known as the Emerald Park Trail.

Once completed, the Highland Trail will be asphalt paved and ADA compliant.

The old trail will remain known as the Emerald Park Trail, and will be available for off-road bicycles and hikers.
