Autumn in Arkansas Event October 20th in Russellville

Russellville is one part of the state where the colors of Autumn can be enjoyed in their full splendor.
On October 20th, Arkansans are invited to drop by Lake Dardanelle State Park to explore what makes this time of the year special.
Autumn is the season of change as nature prepares for the cold winter. Days are rapidly getting shorter and nights getting cooler. The leaves are bright with color and plenty of wildlife can be seen taking advantage of the wild harvest to prepare for migration or hibernation.
All ages are welcome to join in for some fun fall festivities at the park that include a kayak tour to enjoy the autumn colors surrounding the lake.
Other programs throughout the day will include: fall colors walk, crafting corn husk figures, making leaf prints, and a Dutch oven cooking demonstration with a small $1 fee.
Some events require pre-registration, so call ahead to (479) 967-5516.
The day of events winds down with listening to stories of the night sky while exploring the constellations and taking on the Star Gazers Challenge at the swimming beach area beginning at 8:00 p.m.
