Benton Police Arrest Three Men for Attempted Capital Murder

The Benton Police Department (BPD) has arrested three men on a string of charges including attempted capital murder after a weekend shooting incident.

Police say the victim in the case did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Full details in the following BPD news release:

On 9/30/12, at approximately 4:00 AM, officers responded to 121 Lake Street on report of a shooting that had just occurred. Upon arrival they found a victim who had been shot in the side.

It was determined that three suspects broke into the residence and began fighting with the victim, and ultimately ended up shooting him. The three suspects were identified as being; Jonathan Edgin (W/M, 21 YOA), Kevin Hensley (W/M, 21 YOA), and Cornelius Wilson (B/M, 20 YOA). There was a history of on-going personal conflicts between all of the suspects and the victim, but nothing violent until this incident. 

Kevin Hensley was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Capital Murder, Unauthorized Use of Another Person's Property to Facilitate a Crime, Aggravated Residential Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Battery 2nd Degree, Battery 3rd Degree, and Criminal Mischief. 

Cornelius Wilson was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Capital Murder, Aggravated Residential Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Battery 2nd Degree, Battery 3rd Degree, and Criminal Mischief. 

Jonathan Edgin was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Capital Murder, Unauthorized Use of Another Person's Property to Facilitate a Crime, Aggravated Residential Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Battery 2nd Degree, Battery 3rd Degree, and Criminal Mischief. 

All three suspects have been arrested and are currently incarcerated in the Saline County Detention Facility.  The victim in the case was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  This is an on-going investigation and more arrests could be forthcoming in the near future.

Give them 10 years of torture, then Electric Chair OR 30 days and jail and then Lethal Injection. Case closed
