What Now for the Razorbacks?

"No darn excuses," head coach John L. Smith exclaimed after Texas A&M dismantled his Razorbacks 58-10 Saturday. "We're going to go to the field and we're going to work."
With each catastrophic loss, it gets more difficult for the Hogs to press on.
"It's hard. It's real hard," running back Knile Davis said after the game. "Losing feels very bad. You don't want to do (anything). You don't want to go out. I haven't left the house. You just don't want to do anything."
"We had progress last week,' quarterback Tyler Wilson explained. "Early, we came out in this game and marched the ball right down the field. We had good body language, I thought. Everybody was ready to go. Unfortunately, things started to go a little sour."
"Quit isn't in our vocabulary and you can't allow it to be," Smith added.
With three more turnovers, Arkansas' tied for second most in the nation at 15. When the Razorbacks didn't give it away, they still couldn't score, going 1-5 in the red zone.
"We moved the ball, at times, up and down the field," Smith said. "We got it down there and we just don't get it in enough. I think our ability to run the ball has a little bit to do with that, without a doubt."
"You can't turn the ball over," offensive Paul Petrino said. "That's the bottom line. We moved the ball up and down the field enough. We didn't score well enough in the critical zone and you can't have two interceptions and a fumble."
"We can''t have that," Wilson agreed. "We can't have that and win. We can't have that and even be in a close game."
Forget competing for championships. This team's goal simply needs to be playing well for four quarters.
"That has to be our goal," Smith said. "Our goal has to be improve every day."
"We as a team just have got to get better," Davis said. "It's not really one guy right now. It's just us as a team that's struggling right now. So we've got to pick it up."
With such wide spread failure, you'd think the coaches would go back to square one. Think again.
"That's one thing I've told our staff," Smith explained. "Continue to believe in the things that you do and work them and just get better."
