"These people who did this heinous act (sic) is sad and sorry and don't deserve to be in society," declared Pastor Benny Johnson.
At a news conference Thursday afternoon in a North Little Rock church, several pastors demanded the three men involved in the shooting death of Akiya Egeston turn themselves in to police.
Surveillance camera photos show three masked men on Saturday night went into the E-Z Mart convenience store where Egeston was working her shift. They ran out the door without taking anything, ran back inside and shot Egeston, then ran away.
The killing sent shock-waves through the community.
Speaking at the news conference, Egeston's mother said her daughter knew the neighborhood where she worked is dangerous.
"She took her chances because, you know, she had to take care of her kids," said Marie Currie.
Police say they have been following up on leads.
Capt. Mike Davis said he is positive his officers will arrest the gunmen.
