Report: More Malpractice Suits Being Settled, Dismissed

For the first time in ten years, it looks like it's profitable for insurance companies to cover medical malpractice in Arkansas.

According to the latest report by the state's insurance department, more pending claims are being settled or dismissed.

That means for every dollar insurance companies take in on malpractice premiums, they're keeping about 40 cents.

As a result, insurance companies are not asking the state for permission to raise their rates.
