New Dillard's Internet Fulfillment Center Opens in Maumelle

There was a celebration in Maumelle on Tuesday as Dillard's opened its internet fulfillment center, bringing hundreds of jobs to Central Arkansas.
Online orders for the company will be filled at this state-of-the-art facility, where high-tech robots will assist employees with daily duties.
The mayor of Maumelle called the new center the gift that keeps on giving.
"They only promised about 200 jobs, we're well over 300 jobs today and so in this economy that is wonderful news for all of Central Arkansas, not just Maumelle," Mayor Mike Watson says.
The director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission says Dillard's looked across the country for the best place to locate the new facility and was pleased the Arkansas-based company chose a location in its own backyard.
