The recent dips in temperature are causing fleas to hatch all across Central Arkansas.

Local veterinarians say it is normal around this time of the year, as flea eggs remain dormant during the hot weather and then begin to hatch as the days get cooler.

"For fleas, this same weather low 70s and humidity in the 60 percentile is exactly what they want to do to hatch," says veterinarian Tim Paladino.

Dr. Paladino says there are a number of products on the market for to help rid your pet of the pesky fleas.
