September Declared As Arkansas Rice Month

Rice, it's the main cash crop in Arkansas and the lifeblood for so many of the state's farming families.

This year many rice farmers have seen tough times with the drought and Tropical Storm Isaac. Recently Governor Mike Beebe declared September as Arkansas  Rice Month.

Tuesday on KARK 4 Today, Travis McConnell, sous chef  at the Capital Bar and Grill and Ben Noble, the executive director of the Arkansas Rice Federation explained why Arkansas Rice Month is important.
