Starting at the beginning of September the city council approved bow hunters to hunt deer inside the city limits.

Animal control officials tell kark they've seen a huge interest in the initiative with about a hundred hunters already signed up.

"We're hoping it'll work because we do have a real big over population of deer in the city," said Director of Russellville Animal Service Mike Vernon.

Also a good cause, the rules say the first deer must be donated to Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry.
