Carlotta Walls Lanier, one of the "Little Rock Nine," is scheduled to donate personal items that marked the desegregation of Central High School in 1957 sometime this week, according to the Washington Post.
The dress Lanier wore her first day of school, along with her diploma and several other keepsakes, will be featured at the Smithsonian National Museum of African-American History and Culture.
Next Tuesday marks the 55th anniversary of the first day the Little Rock Nine were allowed to stay at Central High School.
