Lack of Votes Leaves Danville with No School Board Members

In what the superintendent calls an "odd scenario," Danville School District has been left without any school board members.

All five members of the board ran unopposed, however no one voted, and state law requires candidates receive at least one vote.

Yell County Judge Mark Thone said there is no precedent for something like this.

Typically the members would have been grandfathered in, but because of redistricting from the census there are technically no incumbents.

So instead a Yell County quorum court will have to appoint each member at a specially called meeting on Monday.
