Music Milestone for Casting Crowns

Casting Crowns is celebrating a music milestone just weeks before performing in Arkansas.

The contemporary Christian Music super group performing October 20th at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock has received notification of its first career RIAA certified double Platinum album.

Casting Crowns, the band's 2005 debut release, is one of only eight Christian projects ever to achieve 2x multi-Platinum status.

Joining the elite ranks of other 2x multi-Platinum Christian CDs including Satellite (P.O.D.), The Beautiful Letdown (Switchfoot) and Almost There (MercyMe), Casting Crowns was the band's breakthrough album, spawning Gold single "Who Am I," while making Casting Crowns a household name.

The group has since become one of the most decorated acts in Christian music, reigning as Billboard's top-selling CCM artist since 2007.

"I'm honored to work alongside Mark Hall and Casting Crowns, and congratulate them on such an incredible milestone. Their record was a game changer for Provident and CCM music and continues to minister to listeners," notes Provident Music Group President & CEO, Terry Hemmings.

The news comes on the heels of one of Casting Crowns' most successful tours to date, the "Come to the Well" tour, and recent recognition as Top Christian Artist and Top Christian Album (Come To The Well) at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

Ticket prices for Casting Crowns' October 20th performance at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock are $29, $36.50, and $46.50.

The event is produced by Awakening Events and The Church at Rock Creek.

It is important to remember that Casting Crowns travels with 3 tour buses and 3 eighteen wheelers. At my church we own a MCI motor coach. This is a bus that holds 47 people. This bus is very similiar to the buses that Crowns uses. (their buses are set up for living on the road, they have bed rooms etc). Our bus averages 6 miles per gallon and diesel cost around $4/gal. Any time we send our one bus to the shop we can easily spend $2000 easily on a very small problem. We can spend $500.00 just for one tire. The cost of keeping 3 buses and 3 trucks on the road is quite costly. This does not cover the cost of the crew, insurance etc. I think a better thing to look at is how much does Casting Crowns cost compared to a popular secular band. I think you will find there is a big difference.

I'm guessing "freely give foe he have freely received" has go e by the way when just to get in the door one has to she'll out $29. What family with a tight budget or even no budget could afford to be a part of this so called "Christian" gathering. Casting Crowns, along with all the other so called "Christian" bands who charge this kind of money DO NOT represent God, but themselves. Don't give me the lone they need that much dough to cover expenses.mthere are a lot cheaper venues they could play, or maybe play a long stand at a large Church with multiple concerts. This is all about the money. Another Christian band dragged into the vortex of fame and greed.
