A Drew County man was arrested last week after a traffic stop turned up almost 7 grams of methamphetamine ice.

According to the Drew County Sheriff's Office, 51-year-old Glynn Vincent was arrested after being in a vehicle that was stopped on Highway 138 around 6:30 a.m. heading westbound toward Monticello last Thursday.

Deputies searched the passengers and discovered 6.9 grams of ice. Vincent's arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Vincent was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and taken to the Drew County Detention Center where he remains on a $50,000 bond.

Sheriff's officials say one gram of methamphetamine ice produces 15-20 "hits" of the drug, bringing the amount of "hits" in this bust to 103-138,

Sheriff Mark Gober says methamphetamine use has been more prominent in all areas of the population, regardless of race and income.
