A Johnson County man was arrested early Monday morning after shooting his own brother with a shotgun.

Authorities arrested 20-year-old Samuel Carter after an argument at a home on County Road 4021 near Clarksville.

Samuel and his 27-year-old brother Christopher were reportedly arguing, but Christopher left in order to cool down.

When he came back, his brother grabbed a shotgun and shot him in the leg, according to police.

Christopher was treated at Johnson Medical Center before being taken to UAMS in unknown condition.

Samuel Carter was arrested on charges of second-degree battery, and according to jail records, was released Monday evening.
