Conway Police interviewed Jonathan Thacker, saying they believe he has personal knowledge of the incident and lives near the area where the rape occurred. Authorities released his name and photo Monday afternoon saying they had a hard time getting in touch with him for an interview.
Friday morning, a Conway woman said she woke up with a man straddling her and strangling her in her bed, and that he went on to sexually assault her. The unidentified victim says she ended up jumping out of her bathroom window naked and running to her neighbors for help.
Police still have not named any suspects but neighbors say they are tightening security measures as long as the alleged perpetrator is on the loose.
"Ever since I found out what happened I've just been cautious paying attention to everybody that's been coming around, but I wonder what type of person would want to do something like that. It kind of boggles my brain," said neighbor Shameca Pearson.
The alleged victim says she is moving away from the area. This case is still under investigation.
