Citizens of Malvern are finding that out now, as one of the first USA Drug stores in Arkansas is closed as the Walgreens buyout takes hold.
In less than an hour at least half a dozen people showed up at the USA Drug store in Malvern, only to find it's out of business.
Some folks in town say the place closed down Saturday night, and now customers are taking their business elsewhere.
Old Glory is still waving in the breeze at the USA Drug store in Malvern, but the most you'll hear these days is traffic passing and some birds squawking.
This store is closed for good.
"I was kind of sad, I really was. I was sad," says Katherine Casady, who just found out the store was closed.
She's a retired nurse and has been shopping here for 12 years.
David Ninteman just last week used the money wire service at the USA store, but he's more concerned about the folks who used to work there.
"I'm afraid they're going to be out, not having a job, jobs are hard to find nowadays," Ninteman says.
So now there's one less store in Malvern, fewer jobs and a lot of customers having to take their business elsewhere.
If you had a prescription at USA Drug, those records have been transferred over to Walgreens' database.
