A woman was rescued from the Arkansas River Sunday afternoon after jumping from the I-430 bridge.

Around 1:00 Sunday afternoon, witnesses say a woman parked her silver Volkswagen Beetle on the side of I-430 and jumped into the river.

Fire crews with Little Rock, North Little Rock, Arkansas Game and Fish as well as state troopers all helped look for the woman. But it was actually just a person on a jet ski that reached her first.

Fire crews say she is very lucky.

Bat. Chief James Beck of the Little Rock Fire Department says, "Very fortunate to end up alive, and that people were in close proximity to her and that the river wasn't flowing as swiftly as it could have been. Because when it's flowing real fast, you end up at the dam really quick."

There is no word on the condition of the woman or why she jumped.
